ネットサーフィンしていたら、次のサイトを見つけた。
SPI社のゲームリストだ。

最初は、SPI社から出版されたゲーム紹介のための一覧ページかと思った。
だが、リンク先を見て驚いた。
例えば下記リンク先は私の好きなSPI『奇襲空挺部隊』(Paratroop)へのリンクだ。

Strategy & Tactics誌の表紙の写真に、ユニットやマップの写真がある。
Boardgame geekにもあるから、それらがあってもおかしくない。
VASSALモジュールがあがっているのも、わかる。
しかし、驚いたのはルールブックのPDFもあがっていることだ。ルールブックはウォーゲームで一番重要だと思うので、それをフリーでネットに上げているのに驚いた。
著作権上、問題ないのだろうか？
「もしかして遺法コピーサイトではないか？」とも思ったが、サイトを見た感じでは遺法サイトではなさそうだ。
ルールブックの最終ページには、”Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976; Allowance is made for
"Fair Use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship,
and research.”とある。
また、下の方に以下の記述もある。

ディズニーのせいか、アメリカは著作権について厳しい国、と私は思っていたが、SPI社がもう存在しないからなのかもしれないが、多くのデザイナーはまだ生きている。
こういうサイトの存在を見ると、著作権について日本以上に緩やかな気がした。
